ClipMeal Privacy Policy

ClipMeal ("the App") is a recipe extraction tool that helps you save recipes from videos and websites. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data the App processes and how it is handled.

1. Data We Process

When you submit a URL to extract a recipe, the App processes:

• The URL you provide (video or website link)
• Publicly available content at that URL (page text, video metadata, thumbnails)

This data is used solely to extract and return a structured recipe to you.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect, store, or track:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• User accounts or login credentials
• Device identifiers or IP addresses
• Location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
• Cookies or browser fingerprints

3. Caching

Extracted recipes may be cached for up to 24 hours to improve performance. Cache entries are keyed by a one-way hash of the URL (not the URL itself) and contain only the extracted recipe data. Cached data is automatically deleted after expiration.

4. Temporary Files

Video content may be temporarily downloaded to the server for processing. All temporary files are automatically deleted immediately after recipe extraction is complete.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services to process recipes:

• Google Gemini API — Analyzes video and text content to extract recipe information. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Render — Cloud hosting provider. Subject to Render's Privacy Policy.
• Redis Cloud — Used for temporary recipe caching. No personal data is stored.

6. Data Stored on Your Device

Recipes you save are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it. The App does not sync data to any external server.

7. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since the App does not collect personal information from any user, no special provisions are required.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
